Dr. Kirsten Zellmer to Start at Oconomowoc Animal Hospital

Oconomowoc Animal Hospital is very excited to announce that Dr. Kirsten Zellmer will be joining our team on September 12th, 2016. Adding another full-time veterinarian will allow us to better accommodate the needs of our community, clients and pets.

Dr. Kirsten is a 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – School of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent the last 18 years practicing in Green Bay at an AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited clinic and recently moved to this area with her husband and family. She has four grown children, three girls and a boy, with only the youngest still living at home full-time as a junior in high school. Dr. Kirsten has a special interest in feline medicine and the affects of nutrition on health, and she enjoys the detective work involved in figuring out a complicated case.

Dr. Kirsten spent many hours in her flower and vegetable gardens at her previous home and looks forward to turning her somewhat boring grass lawn and lava rocks into something wonderful at her new home. Her other interests include camping, hiking, travelling around the country with her family, and baking desserts with thousands of calories and lots of butter. Thankfully she also enjoys swimming, which helps a bit in wearing off the desserts.

Along with her husband and the grown children that are in and out of the house in the blink of an eye, Dr. Kirsten shares her home with a neurotic eleven-year-old Springer Spaniel named Rosy, a weird fuzzy grey kitty with a squirrel tail named Ember (aka “Fuzz Butt”), and a guinea pig named Lily, that belongs to her youngest child. She looks forward to beginning a new chapter of her career at our practice – meeting new patients and finding kindred spirits among the clients of Oconomowoc Animal Hospital.
